Congratulations!!..you’ve secretly gone and bought a ring, and now you’re ready to ask one of the biggest questions of your life!! It’s so exciting and nerve-wracking all rolled into one.
Naturally your next thought is ‘where should I actually propose?’
Well finding the right location and setting can be a bit tricky if you don’t already have your own special place as a couple. You will no doubt be looking for something that is stunning, romantic and stylish as any old venue just WILL NOT DO!!
Look no further, here are a few romantic places in Birmingham.
I have put together a little list which will hopefully make your spouse-to-be swoon and say YES!
The Hyatt is a truly wonderful hotel and would be a fabulous place to go down on bended knee. It is an elegant hotel that offers amazing views across our beautiful city, plus they have the simply stunning Aria signature restaurant. You can obviously make a weekend of it, by booking in enjoying good food, spa time and fantastic views. I can totally recommend this hotel as this is where my husband and I got married.
This park offers so much to do both inside and outside. Why not take a romantic little trip out on the Boating Lake in a fabulous Swan Pedal Boat. It’s a chance to take in the beautiful views and gives you the opportunity to pedal to the middle of the lake and pop the all important question.
If like me you or your partner like The Lord of the Rings then maybe Sarehole Mill is the place for you. It is said that some of the locations and characters were inspired by Tolkien’s childhood in Birmingham, as he lived near Sarehole Mill. So a proposal here with your ‘precious’ would certainly offer you just the right mix of romance just outside the city.
What does this location offer you? Well I’d say the total element of surprise. As you walk through Grand Central just like in the movies you can pop the question as you get to the middle of Grand Central. This can then be followed by maybe popping over to the lovely Fizz Bar to toast your engagement.
Birmingham boasts more canals than Venice so why not book meal or go for drinks at one of the many canalside restaurants or bars. Then just before sunset maybe take your beloved to one of the beautiful iron-built canal bridges and go for the proposal of your life!!
If you and your love are art lovers and you want something a little more intimate than the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, then maybe the Ikon Gallery is the place for you. After looking at the wonderful exhibitions maybe you could go back to their favourite exhibit and pop the question. Then follow this up with a cheeky cocktail from the York’s Café on site.
Well guys n gals I guess all that’s left to say is good luck and happy proposing!!
